I. MỤC ĐÍCH CHUYÊN ĐỀ
- Chuyên đề này cung cấp cho các em các kết hợp giữa tính từ và giới từ phổ biến
hay được sử dụng trong tiếng Anh. Bên cạnh đó, chúng ta cũng học thêm một số
cấu trúc câu sử dụng các kết hợp từ này.

II. KIẾN THỨC CƠ BẢN
1. Adj + of…
 Nice/ kind/ good/ polite/ silly/ stupid… of somebody (to do something)
- Thank you. It was nice of you to help me.
- It is stupid of her to go out without a coat in such cold weather.
Nhưng: nice/ kind/ good/ polite/ silly/ stupid/ unfriendly … to somebody
- They have always been very nice to me.
 Afraid/ frightened/ terrified/ scared of..: sợ…
- Are you afraid of dogs?
 Fond/ proud/ ashamed/ jealous/ envious of…: thích/ tự hào/ xấu hổ/
ghen tị/ đố kỵ về ai/ cái gì
- Why are you so jealous of other people?
 Suspicious/ critical of…: nghi ngờ/ chỉ trích, phê bình….
- He was suspicious of my intentions.
 Aware of/ conscious of …: có ý thức về….
- Did you know he was married? - No, I wasn’t aware of that.
 Capable/ incapable of doing somethingg…: có khả năng/ không có khả
năng làm việc gì
- I’m sure that you are capable of passing the exam.
 Full of/ short of…: đầy/ thiếu cái gì
- The letter I wrote was full of mistakes.
- I’m short of money. Can you lend me some?
 Tired of doing something…: mệt mỏi với việc làm gì
- Come on, let’s go! I’m tired of waiting.

2. Adj + about/ with…
 Angry/ annoyed/ furious about something: giận dữ/ khó chịu về điều gì
- It’s stupid to get angry about things that don’t matter.
 Angry/annoy/furious with somebody for doing something: giận dữ/ khó
chịu với ai vì họ đã làm gì
- Are you annoyed with me for being late?
 Excited/worried/ upset/ nervous/happy.. about (doing) something: hào
hứng, lo lắng, buồn, vui sướng về điều gì
- Are you excited about going on holiday next week?
 Delighted/pleased/ satisfied/ disappointed with something: vui vẻ/ hài
lòng/ thoả mãn/ thất vọng về điều gì.
- I was delighted with the present you gave me.

3. Adj + at/ by/ with…
 Surprised/shocked/ amazed/astonished at/by something: ngạc nhiên/ sốc
về điều gì
- Everybody was surprised at/by the news.
- I hope you weren’t shocked by/at what I said.
 Impressed with/by somebody/something: ấn tượng với ai/ cái gì
- I’m very impressed with/by her English. It’s very good.
 Fed up with/bored with something: chán ngấy cái gì
- I don’t enjoy my job any more. I’m fed up with it. /I’m bored with
it.
 Good/bad/excellent/brilliant at…: giỏi/ dốt/ xuất sắc về …
- I’m not very good at maths.
4. Adj + on/ to/ from/ in/ for
 Married/ engaged to…: kết hôn/ đính hôn với…
- Linda is married to an American.
 Different from…: khác với…
- The film was different from what I’d expected.
 Interested in…: thích thú
- Are you interested in art?
 Keen on…: say mê làm gì/ cái gì
- I’m keen on listening to music.
 Dependent on….: phụ thuộc vào
- I don’t want to be dependent on anybody.
 Famous for….: nối tiếng về…

- Hanoi is famous for places of interest.
 Responsible for….: chịu trách nhiện về việc gì
- Who was responsible for all that noise last night?
 Sorry about something: xin lỗi về điều gì
- I’m sorry about the
